Mary Ruth Sones Potter

MORVEN – On Thursday, June 10, 2021, Mrs. Mary Ruth Sones Potter, 87, of Concord and formerly of Morven, went to be with her Lord at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, June 14, 2021, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Morven Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Mary was born October 9, 1933, in Angie, LA and was a daughter of the late Robert Sones and the late Minnie Lee Lott Sones. She worked as a Government Consultant with NASA and was a member of Morven Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lynne Harp of Bartow, FL and Michael Potter of Shoemakersville, PA; her grandchildren, Sean Kester, Anthony Cipriano, Alex Cipriano, Amber Harp, Adam Cipriano, Lexi Potter and Justin Potter; her great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Mackenzie and Corvin and her brother and sister, Vaughn Sones and Edna Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Potter, her son, Louis Planche, and her daughter, Debra Kester.
