Mary Alice Bowman Mrs. VonCannon

Mrs. Mary Alice Bowman VonCannon, 92, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in the Lillie Bennett Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday, October 4, 2013 in First United Methodist Church with Rev. Benny Clodfelter officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM. Mary Alice was born in Anson County on September 13, 1921, a daughter of the late George Manley and Lela Florence Eddins Bowman. She was retired from Little Cotton Mfg. with 25 years of service. Mary Alice was married to James Shellam 'Doc' VonCannon who preceded her in death in 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Shellam V. (Wayne) Hill of Conway, SC and Janet VonCannon (Ron) Kirkley of Garner, NC; and two grandsons, David and Jonathan Hill. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Alice was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Bowman and two sisters, Harriet B. Alexander and Eva B. Wickware.
