Midge Carpenter

Lilesville- Mrs. Midge Carpenter, 74, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at Atrium Health Anson in Wadesboro.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Midge was born July 10, 1948, in Anson County and was a daughter of the late Lester Washington Carpenter and Lula Jane Harrington Carpenter. She attended Anson County Public schools and had worked as a floral and decorative designer in Charleston, SC before retiring  and moving back to North Carolina.

Survivors include a son, Gilbert Chester "Trey" Dean, III of Lilesville; a daughter, Shannon Nicole Mizell of Conway, NC; a grandson, Kaden Scott Mizell of Lilesville; her brothers and sister, Frank Carpenter, Dan Carpenter and Harvey Carpenter all of Lilesville, and Jean Pruitt of Conway, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Dean  and her sisters and brothers, Lib Simpson, Marlene Morris, Freddy Carpenter and Robert Carpenter.
