Monte Story Mrs. Streater

ROCKINGHAM - Mrs. Monte Story Streater, 94, of Rockingham and formerly of Lilesville died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:30pm Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm until 2:30pm at the funeral home on Wednesday. Monte was born April 17, 1919 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Alonzo Jones Story and the late Annie Goodwin Story. She was retired from United Mills, was a former member of Wade United Methodist Church and after moving to Rockingham 19 years ago, she joined Roberdell United Methodist Church. Surviving are her children, Lois (Gene) Keebler of Midlothian, VA, Mary Frances Sullivan of Clover, SC, Elaine (James) Gulledge of Hamlet, NC and Wilbur (Lisa) Streater, Jr. of Huntersville, NC; her sister, Katherine Waddell of Wadesboro, NC; her 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Bruce Streater and by her brothers and sisters, Kenneth, Joe, and Francis Story, Mary Lee High, Lucy Odom and Sara Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roberdell United Methodist Church, 1302 Roberdell Rd., Rockingham, NC 28379 or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1015 Fayetteville Rd.
