WADESBORO - Mr. Van McArthur Williams, 71, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System Anson in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, May 9, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. James Hodges and Rev. Donnie Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Jowers Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Van was born March 12, 1945 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Ed Thomas Williams and the late Beulah Ricketts Williams. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a retired heavy equipment operator.
Surviving are his brothers and sisters, Elmer Bud (Ursula) Williams of Lilesville, Ronnie (Kay) Williams of Bumpuss, TN, Louise Tucker of Atkinson, Winnie Williams of the home, Frances (Wayne) Gathings and Margaret (Ronnie) Chewning both of Wadesboro and his nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin and Tommy Williams.
