MORVEN - Mr. George Edward 'Eddie' Henry, Jr., 65, died Friday, October 17, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Knotts officiating. Interment will follow in Morven Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Monday, October 20, 2014 at the funeral home and other times at the home. Eddie was born December 21, 1948 in Anson County, NC a son of the late George Edward and Eugenia 'Jean' Kanipe Henry. He was retired from CMH Flooring. Surviving are his wife, Sherrill Morgan Henry of the home; his children, Eddie (Shannon) Henry of Oakboro and Dean (Brandon) Thomas of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Olivia, Lennon, Shaler, and Cartney Henry and Ivy Thomas; his brother and sisters, Gary (Penny) Henry of Rockingham, Donna (Larry) Griggs of Lilesville and Julie Morris of Wadesboro. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Maxine Morgan of Morven and his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe (Becky) Morgan of Wadesboro, Phil (Wanda) Morgan of Garden City, Steve Morgan of Morven and Gina (David) Wooten of Cumming, GA. He has 5 nieces, 5 nephews, 2 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Joy Henry and father-in-law, J.B. Morgan. Eddie will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved and was loved by many friends and touched many lives by his warm personality and daily visits on his rounds about town. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 3520 Stanback Ferry Ice Plant Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170 or to Anson County Relay for Life Team, % American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave., Charlotte, NC 28207.
