Nell Parker Mrs. Baucom

Polkton - Mrs. Nell Parker Baucom, age 93, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 25, 2014, at her daughter's home in Charlotte. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, December 29, 2014, in Rocky Mount Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Hill and Rev. Rex Burleson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service in the Fellowship hall of the church. Nell was born in Anson County on November 13, 1921, a daughter of the late Walter and Lessie Broadaway Parker. She was a retired textile worker having worked for Ballet Hoisery and Burnsville Apparel. She was a lifelong member and briefly the oldest living member at Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Joe) Leonard of Charlotte; a granddaughter, Tonya Lee of Charlotte; and two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Maegan Lee. In addition to her parents, Nell was preceded in death by a son, Tony Jackson Baucom in 1985, and her husband, Artast J. Baucom in 1989. Leavitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
