Mr. Nello Little, also known as the man who loved to play his guitars, was born December 16, 1929 in Anson County, NC, a son of the late Nello Threadgill and the late Mary Little. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 3, 2013 while in the care of Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, August 8, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Williams Cemetery, Polkton.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Nello attended Anson County Public Schools; had worked for several years as a saw mill employee and assisted friends in transportation needs while he was able. He confessed Christ at an early age and continued to walk in faith until the end.
A well-known guitarist, he was faithful to share his God-given talent with many churches in and around Anson County as he shared his ministry of music. Although he found much delight in playing his guitar his greatest joy was representing Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Ressie Viola Leak Little of Greensboro, NC; his daughter, Winnie (Robert) Watkins of Norwood, NC; entering into this marriage he inherited two daughters, Deborah (Fred) Christon and Elmer (Ander) Leak-Burns both of Greensboro, NC; his sisters, Mary Elizabeth Cason and Emma Grace Tyson; his grandson, Joe (Renee) Smith of Winston Salem, NC; his great-grandchildren, Maria, Monquale, and Jermanek, all of Albemarle, NC and David of Charleston, SC; by marriage he inherited three grandsons, Fred Christon, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC, Marcus Christon of Durham, NC and Christopher Crowder of Greensboro, NC and one great-granddaughter, Z'myia Crowder of Greensboro, NC; his aunt, Viola Little of Polkton, NC; a special cousin, Pearl Daniels of Wadesboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Jimmy Threadgill and Doretha Threadgill.
