POLKTON – On Sunday, January 24, 2021, Mr. Nelson Vance Tucker, Jr., 60, life-long resident of the Burnsville Community passed away suddenly.
There will be a service to celebrate his life at 2:00pm Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department with Rev. Patrick Ledford officiating.
The family will be available to visit with those attending following the service.
Nelson was born October 8, 1960 in Stanly County, NC and was a son of the late Nelson Vance Tucker and the late Mirian Edwards Tucker. He was a 1978 graduate of Bowman High School. He served more than 20 years with the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department, where he was always willing to serve in any capacity and had served as Officer of Fire and Safety Training.
He worked for 27 years with Hardees Restaurants and following that, he owned and operated Carolina Lawn Pros.
Nelson loved being outdoors, enjoying nature, hunting, and simply spending time at the creek or the pond on his property. He also enjoyed an annual vacation trip with his friends and brother Joey out West.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brother and sisters, Joey Tucker, also of the Burnsville Community, Marie Zimmerman and husband, Dave of Ft. Myers, FL, Janice Tucker of Charlotte and Gina Blake and husband, Nolan of Fairview Heights, IL; his nephews, Eric Gulledge and wife, Ginny of Albemarle, William Gulledge of Concord and Daniel Gulledge of Stanfield; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ethan, Reagan, Sage, Riley and Aiden, as well as, his extended family of Tucker’s and Edwards’ and many friends.
The family requests no flowers and that memorials be made to Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department, 13380 NC 742 N, Polkton, NC 28135.
