Lilesville-Miss Nezzie Lee Parsons was born January 27, 1944 in Anson County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Ed Parsons and the late Mary Montgomery Parsons. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, North Carolina. She confessed Christ at an early age and attended the Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful and dedicated member of the Sunday school and Senior Choir Department. She also attended the North Carolina School for the Blind in Raleigh, North Carolina. Nezzie did not allow her disability to stop her from working in her church. Left to cherish her precious memories is a brother, Frank Parsons of Monroe, NC; two aunts, Ardener Montgomery of Lilesville, NC and Virginia Ethel Montgomery of Wadesboro, NC; one uncle, Robert Lee Montgomery of Lilesville, NC; two sisters-in-law, Delese Parsons and Mary Henrietta Parsons; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces, cousins, care-giver, Ms. Willie Pickett who was like family to her and a host of other very special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, B.J. Parsons, Ray Thomas Parsons, Willie Parsons, Alonzo Parsons and Annie Mae Leak. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Monday, May 20, 2013 at Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
