Wadesboro - Oscar Lee Lewis was born on September 6, 1965 in Anson County and was a son of the late Thomas Frank Lewis, Sr. and the late Ezra Dale Steele Lewis. He passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.
Oscar was a 1983 graduate of Bowman Senior High School. Following graduation, he attended the University of Florida for fashion design.
He loved fashion, drawing, illustrating clothing, music, reading, traveling, and helping care for others. He was well-known for being everyone’s “Uncle Oscar”. If you met him, you would never forget him. He would feed you until you are about to burst with food and snacks.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his three sisters, Ophia Dale Liles, and Edith McLendon both of Wadesboro, NC and Shirley Rose McLendon (Ricky) of Ansonville, NC; a special niece, Vicky McLendon “Pookie Bear” of Wadesboro, NC and a special nephew, Preston Lamont Lewis “Big Boi” of Wadesboro; a special friend, Nadine Quick and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 19, 2020, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Ansonville.
