Wadesboro - Mr. Parker Richard Treadaway, 77, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Ambassador Health and Rehab.
There will be a memorial service at 3:00pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. James Gibson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
A private inurnment will be in Eastview Cemetery.
He was born May 7, 1940 in Anson County, NC, one of nine children born to the late Parker Holmes Treadaway and the late Elsie Elise McRae Treadaway. He had worked for a number of years as a mechanic and fixer at Little Cotton Manufacturing.
Surviving are his sister and brother, Sarah T. Hildreth of Florence, SC and John E. (Kathy) Treadaway of Cheraw, SC; daughters of the heart, Leigh Taylor of Peachland, ,who has 4 children and 3 grandchildren and Tonya Ann Dixon of Patrick, SC and his nieces and nephews and their families.
Richard loved hunting, fishing, farming and especially driving the tractor. He treasured time working with Harold and Kenny Capel on their farm. He enjoyed Blue Grass Music and loved taking friends and family to the Music Barn in Mineral Springs.
Richard loved his family and was very proud of them. He was a lady's man and loved to be the center of attention. He had a big heart and personality.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Bob Treadaway, Jim Treadaway, Mary Lou Harward, Patsy Treadaway and infants Margaret and Joyce Treadaway.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leavitt Funeral Home, P.O. Box 274, Wadesboro, NC 28170 to assist with the funeral expenses.
