POLKTON -- Mrs. Patricia Williams Allen of Polkton, 77, died January 7, 2022, at Atrium Anson. She was born in Cheraw, SC on November 24, 1944, to the late Chuck Williams and Lula Butler Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of over 53 years, Charles Allen of the home, her daughters Paige Allen Dyson (Michael) of Polkton, Ashlie Allen Jones (Chip) of Keystone Heights, FL. She was most proud of her grandchildren, Gavin Jones and Kennedy Jones along with her only great-grandchild, Levi Jones. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Curtis Howell, along with several nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Magdaline Williams.
She was Pat, Patsy, Patricia, Flossie, Mama or Mawmaw to those that knew and loved her. She graduated from Wadesboro High School in 1962 and worked for several years in local hosiery mills before she and Charles married. After they married and started a family, she stayed home raising her girls for years before heading back into the workforce as a teller with Security Bank. Later she began working for the NC Department of Corrections at Anson Correctional and eventually retired in 2001.
She spent many hours leading the church youth group, 4-H and Girl Scout activities while her girls were young. She was a member of Polkton United Methodist Church and the Polkton Womens Service Club. She also made sure her kids grew up surrounded by furry and feathered friends as she loved all animals and lost her last dog in December.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00am Thursday, January 13, 2022 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro with Rev. Tom Canady officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service and respectfully requests all in attendance wear face masks and practice social distancing.
Because of Pat’s love of animals, the family requests in lieu of flowers, tax-deductible donations be made to the Friends of Anson County Animal Shelter, PO Box 828, Wadesboro, NC 28170.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Anson Health and Rehab for the care provided to Pat during the last 2 months.
The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home and online condolences may be made at www.leavittfh.com
