WADESBORO - Mrs. Patricia Pat Thompson McRorie, 78, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, December 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Senter officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Saturday in the church parlor.
Pat was born September 26, 1938 in Yonkers, NY a daughter of the late George Edward Thompson and the late Katherine Donahue Thompson.
She was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an honors graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She taught elementary grades at Southview Academy and taught at Anson Technical College. She later worked as a certified court reporter and was well-known throughout the state for her proficiency in her work. In her early career years, she worked as a legal secretary for attorneys, Enos Edwards and Paul Kitchen.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Wadesboro. She was loved her family and was a friend to all. She enjoyed reading and visiting with shut ins and spending time at the Grace Senior Center. She also had a huge heart for animals.
Surviving are her husband, Donald Henry McRorie of the home; her children, Brian A. McRorie and wife, Mary of Matthews, Sharon Seawell and husband, Mike of New Bern, Donna McCormick and husband, Mike and Mary Kendall and husband, Max both of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Wesley Seawell and Sara Seawell both of New Bern, Drew Kendall and Jack Kendall both of Wadesboro, Bennett McRorie of Matthews, Michelle Brock and husband, Stan of Polkton; her great-grandchildren, Kylie Seawell of New Bern and Mac and Adam Brock both of Polkton and her sister, Geraldine Thompson of New York.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brothers, Sissy, Joey and George.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Senior Center, Activities Department, 199 HWY 742 S, Wadesboro, NC 28170 or the charity of the donors choice.
