POLKTON - Mrs. Patricia Pat Peale Taylor, 72, died Monday, May 16, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, May 20, 2016 at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Arnold Jackson and Rev. Tracy Hickson officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro. Pat was born July 4, 1943 in Newport News, VA a daughter of the late Walter Lee Peale and the late Bernice Phifer Peale. She was a graduate of Polkton High School and received her Bachelors Degree from Wingate University. She worked for 33 years with South Piedmont Community College, retiring as registrar. She was active in the community, volunteering at Peachland Polkton Elementary School, tutoring with the Anson Baptist Association, enjoying craft night with friends in the Brown Creek Community and being an active member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Jackie Parks and husband, Tim of Corunna, IN, Steve Taylor and wife, Chrissy of Rockingham and Jody Taylor and wife, Tega of Lilesville; her grandchildren, Taylor Parks, Emily Parks, Ashley Whitworth, Katey Taylor, Hunter Taylor and Matthew Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Ronin and Conner and her brother, Jimmy Peale. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Martha Piggot and Warren Peale.
