WADESBORO – On Thursday, February 25, 2021, Mrs. Patricia “Toosie” Thompson Melton, 68, went to be with the Lord at her home.
Toosie was born July 5, 1952 in Alamance County, NC and was a daughter of the late Julian Bennett Thompson and the late Helen Kiker Thompson. She was a 1971 graduate of Bowman High School and worked for several years in hotel hospitality management.
She grew up in North Wadesboro Baptist Church and most recently attended All Souls Episcopal Church in Ansonville.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kevin Melton (April) of Chesterfield, SC, and Christy Williams (Jimmy) of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Brooke Melton, Leann Melton, Hailey Melton, Cassidy Harward, Jordan Williams and Addison Williams; her great-grandchildren, McKinlee Deese, Kasen Walsh, and Sophia Parks and baby girl, Maya who due to arrive in April; her brothers, Butch Thompson (Kathy) of Wadesboro and Mason Thompson (Jo Lynn) of Concord and her life-long friend, Katrenia Davis of Peachland who was more like her sister.
Toosie will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. In her words, she shared, “I want my children and grandchildren to know when I will leave this world loving them as much in death and she will see them again.”
