WADESBORO- Mr. Paul Esco Houser, Sr., 74, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at CMC Main in Charlotte.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday, November 16, 2012 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Forsyth and Rev. Jeff Whitecotton officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery.
The family will greet friends Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.
Paul was born August 10, 1938 in Knox County, Tenn., a son of the late Leo Houser and Dorothy 'Dot' Ousley Houser. He was known as the 'phone man' having worked with Stromberg-Carlson and Bell Atlantic telecommunications which later become Alltel. Following his retirement from Alltel he opened Tu-Paul Communications with his son, 'PJ'. He was a coach of all sports and was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.
Surviving are his children, Angie Brooks and husband, Burt of Charlotte, Paul Esco 'PJ' Houser, II and wife, Donna of Wadesboro, Mary Beth Allen of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Darrell Houser, Savannah Houser, Aaron Allen, Alicia Allen, Austin Allen, Gavin McCracken, Samuel McCracken and Lacy Brooks; his siblings, Kenny Houser, Jim Houser, Gloria Tarver, Nancy Dickerson, Linda Cirrincione and Brenda Hodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Kitts Houser; his siblings, Jane Young, Bill Houser and Bob Houser.
