Paul Jones Mr. Sikes

PEACHLAND - Mr. Paul Jones Sikes, Sr., 76, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe. There will be a memorial service at 11:00am Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeremiah Johnson officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be at a later date in the church cemetery. Paul was born December 10, 1939 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Thomas Clyde Sikes and the late Effie Rushing Sikes. He was retired with 38 years of service with Coffing Hoists. He was a life-long and active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, a graduate of Burnsville High School, retired member of Burnsville Fire Department and an avid hunter. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Joyce Treadaway Sikes of the home; his children, Paul Sikes, Jr. and Becky Sikes Wilson and husband, Reece all of Peachland; his grandchildren, Ashley Sikes, Abbey Sikes, Riley Terry and Ryan Terry all of Peachland; his sister and brothers, Margaret Bowers, Lee Sikes and Wink Sikes all of Wadesboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Martin Sikes and brothers and sister, Ross, Tommy, Boyce and Joyce Sikes.
