Wadesboro - Mrs. Paula Cox McPhatter, 75, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Carolinas Health Care System Anson.
Memorial services will 1:00pm Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Cathedral Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Swaringen officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
A private inurnment will be in Forestville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lilesville.
Paula was born January 22, 1941 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Houston Paul Cox and the late Myrtle Armantine Vaughn Cox. She was a homemaker and a member of Cathedral Baptist Church.
Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gordon Ingram of Wadesboro; her sister-in-law, Brenda Mullis Cox of Wadesboro; her nieces and nephews and their families and her special friend and caregiver, Nancy Melton.. She is also survived by her beloved cats, Smacker and Baby, whom she often referred to as her children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Houston Paul 'Bud' Cox, Jr., sisters, Peggy Cox Williams and infant Margaret Ann Cox and one of her beloved pets, Spike.
The family is most appreciative for the out pouring of love shown to Paula from her church family and they suggest memorials be made to Cathedral Baptist Church, 1215 Old Lilesville Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
