WADESBORO – On Friday, August 19, 2022, Mrs. Peggy Hill Heavener, 88, passed away peacefully at Wadesboro Health and Rehab in Wadesboro with her family gathered by her bedside. She was a 40-year resident of Wrentham, MA, prior to moving to Murrells Inlet for a short period of time and then moved back home to Anson County, NC.
Services will be 1:00PM Saturday, September 17, 2022 by the graveside in Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with visitation following the service.
The family requests, those attending dress casual.
Peggy was born November 6, 1933, in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Joe Hendley Hill and the late Ruth Polk Hill. She attended public schools in Anson County and was a homemaker and excellent mother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Pamela Payne (Brian Merry) and Susan Travis (Stephen) both of Myrtle Beach, SC, Michael Heavener (Donna) of Winslow, ME and Angela Pike (Randy Poplin) of Peachland; her grandchildren, Bill Payne, Brian Payne (Lisa), Tammy Ward (Geoff), Tina Heavener, Cassie Heavener, Joshua Parker (Vanessa), Jenilee Bennett and Melinda “Mindy” Pike; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Ann Munn and Catherine Tyson (Smokey) both of Ansonville and Barbara Helms (Larry) of Marshville and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
She dearly loved her entire family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Ralph Hill, Johnny Hill, Jim Hill, Paul Hill, Betty Jo Lee, and Sue Brock.
Peggy’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to her sisters for all they have done for her and the staff of Wadesboro Health and Rehab for their loving care while she was a resident there.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Activity Department at Wadesboro Health and Rehab, 2051 Country Club Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
