WADESBORO - On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Mrs. Peggy Chewning Ingram, 83, passed away peacefully at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, by the graveside in Anson Memorial Park with Mr. Ken Caulder officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Peggy was born April 30, 1941, in Anson County, NC, and was a daughter of the late William Henry Chewning and the late Bessie Leola Brock Chewning. She was a graduate of Deep Creek High School. She had a long career in textiles, having worked with West Knitting Mills, Anson Shirt Factory, and Wadesboro Manufacturing. Following retirement from textiles, she was able to do what she loved most and that was working with plants and flowers. She worked with Waddell Farms and Greenhouse in Wadesboro and later was co-owner of Crazy Ladies Greenhouse in Morven.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Terri "Punk" Wright (Danny) and Todd Moore (Freda) both of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Anthony Taylor (Sarah) of Peachland, Brian Taylor of Midland, Danielle McAllister (Franklin) and Cory Moore (Valerie) both of Wadesboro; her great-grandchildren, Easton Taylor, Mason Taylor, Skye Taylor, Lilly Moore and Zoey Moore and her twin sister, Betty Stafford of Wadesboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Levi (Buddy) Ingram.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting something in your yard in Peggy's memory because of her love for gardening and working in her flowers or a contribution to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home and online condolences may be made at www.leavittfh.com
