WADESBORO - Mrs. Peggy Lewis Mitchell, 86, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at Anson Health and Rehabilitation in Wadesboro.
Services will be 11:00am Sunday, October 26, 2014 by the graveside in Anson Memorial Park.
Peggy was born May 4, 1928 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Frank W. and Sarah Adams Lewis. She worked for many years with radio station WADE and later with Wansona Manufacturing before declining health.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wadesboro, where she sang in the choir. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brother, Dorothy L. Thomas, Emmy L. Ingram, Margaret L. Mills and Frank Lewis, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne Mitchell Wood; her nieces and nephews, Denise T. Pate, Faye T. Livengood, Patricia T. Crowell, Lynn L. Lee, Debbie I. Brooks, David H. Thomas, III, Larry Lewis, Lanny Lewis, Trailor Lewis, Tony Solimando and Robbie Mills and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and their families.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Staff at Lillie Bennett Nursing Center, now Anson Health and Rehabilitation, for their wonderful care for Peggy while she was a resident there for 24 years.
