Preston Junior Horne

Peachland - Mr. Preston Junior Horne, 83, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be 4;00pm Friday, December 22, 2017 at Harmony Community Church with Rev. Rocky Carpenter and Rev. Bill High officiating. Interment will follow in Peachland Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. Preston was born April 19, 1934 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Archie Horne and the late Nettie Rushing Horne. He was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation and a part of Harmony Community Church. Surviving are his daughter, Kellly Horne Gaddy of Peachland; his grandson, Randall Gaddy and wife, Brittany of Peachland; his great-grandchildren, Wesley, Kolton, Harleigh, Abbey and Briana; a special friend, Mildred Baucom of Monroe and special nieces and nephew who were very helpful in caring for Preston, Sheila Harward, Sandra Watkins and Ross Puckett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Helms Horne, a daughter, Patty Dean Horne and his brothers and sisters, Frank Horne, William Horne, Lewis Horne, Effie Smith, Lola Hildreth, Ollie Horne, Ada Puckett,Frances Horne and Flossie Horne. In lieu of flowers memorials, may be made to Harmony Community Church, P.O. Box 138, Peachland, NC 28133. or to Anson Community Hospice, % Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US-1, Rockingham, NC 28379. Preston's favorite color was red and the family invites those attending the funeral to wear red in celebration of his life. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
