Wadeboro - Mrs. Rachel Johnson Eddins, 83, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 12:00pm Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Williams and Rev. LeGrand Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday and other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law.
Rachel was born September 24, 1934 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late William Lawrence Johnson and the late Cora Lee Parker Johnson. She had worked for a number of years at West Knitting Mills and also cared for children in her home.
She was a member of Brown Creek Baptist Church and she enjoyed fishing and quilting.
Surviving are her children, Dewey (Mary Lee) Eddins and Glenda (Marvin) Goodwin both of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Steven (Holly) Eddins of Polkton, Chris (Melissa) Eddins and Marvin Goodwin both of Wadesboro and Melinda (Speedy) Hatley of Albemarle; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Eddins, Jeremiah Edwards and Coy Hatley and her sisters and brother, Rochelle Williams of Wadesboro,Shirley Williams of Charlotte and Arthur Johnson of Wadesboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Dewey Eddins, Jr. and her brothers and sisters, Brady, Shorty, Buddy, Limon and Grady Johnson and Mildred Maree and Glennie Kelly.
