WADESBORO - On Thursday, January 11, 2024, Mr. Ralph Leonard Gilmore, 87, passed away peacefully at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, January 15, 2024, by the graveside in Anson Memorial Park.
Ralph was born January 27, 1936 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Walter James Gilmore and the late Lula Munlin Gilmore. He had worked with the North Carolina Department of Corrections, a self-employed well driller and plumber and had also worked in plumbing and maintenance at Valley Protein in Wadesboro.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Wanda Gilmore Johnson (Paul) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Stephanie McKinney (Todd) and Ashleigh Bailey (Richard); his great-grandchildren, Karson, Isleigh, Noah, Griffin, Kyle, and Holden; he also leaves his adopted family of children and grandchildren, Bo Thompson (Bonnie) and Wanda Tillman (Ross) both of Wadesboro; Amanda Thompson, Miranda Thompson and Gene Thompson all of Wadesboro; Richard Martin, Jr., Summer Martin, Prentice Martin, Brant Gibson, Garrett Gibson, Stephanie Gibson, Logan Thompson and Presley Thompson; and Amilliyon Baxter and his sister, Brenda Hill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion, Margie Thompson; his daughter, Debbie Gilmore Stanley, and his brothers and sisters, James Clifton Gilmore, Algie Gilmore, Julian Gilmore, Max Gilmore, Sammy Gilmore, David Gilmore, Cleo Treadaway, Agnes McGee and Bernice Keller.
Ralph enjoyed fishing, gardening, and feeding and watching the deer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
