Everett, WA - Randy Heath Austin, 54, of Everett, WA and formerly of Marshville, NC, was delivered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 30th.
Born September 24, 1957, in Monroe, NC, Randy was the son of Heath and Aileen Williams Austin. His family made their home in Marshville during his formative years and Randy committed his heart to Jesus at age 8 at New Hope Baptist Church. As a teenager, Randy achieved the honor of Eagle Scout and was very active in his home church of Deep Springs Baptist. Following graduation from Forest Hills High School in 1976, he studied at Wingate College and Rhema Bible Training Center in Oklahoma - where he met his future wife, Andrea Lynn Droullard. A divine call to help others led Randy into a career as a pastor and counselor/therapist. It was a role he cherished and excelled in.
On August 7, 1982, Randy and Andrea were married. They found in each other the true comfort of kindred spirits. In 1983, Randy and Andrea planted Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Golden, Colorado where they served 17 years. While pastor, Randy finished his degree in Christian Education through Southwest Assemblies of God University in 1996. The Austin family moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2000 for Randy to pursue graduate studies at Mars Hill/ Western Seminary where he received a Master of Arts in Counseling/Psychology and a Masters of Spiritual Nurture. While in graduate school, he served as Groups Pastor at Northlake Christian Church in Bothell. He also began his private counseling practice, Compass Counseling, in 2001. Randy and Andrea planted Seattle Hill Chapel with The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in 2003 and together they have served that congregation for the past nine years.
The deepest joy in Randy's life was his family. He is survived by his wife, Andrea; son, Nathan Keith; daughter, Lindsey Grace all of Washington; his parents, Heath and Aileen Austin of Greensboro; and a brother, Marty Austin and his wife, Lisa of Greensboro and their children, Ashlyn, and Lauren.
