Wadesboro - Mr. Raymond Lee McCormick, son of the late Cora Mae and James McCormick, Sr., was born in Anson County, NC February 7, 1961. He departed this life on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC. He was 56 years of age.
He attended Anson County Public Schools. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church and later became a member of Ramah Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member until his declining health.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John McCormick and James McCormick, Jr.
To cherish his memory, he leaves four (4) sisters, Ms. Phillis McCormick(Ronnie) of the home, Flora Little (Jimmy) of Morven, NC, Dora Bennett (Arthaniel) of Wadesboro, NC and Sallie Taylor (Tommy) of Wadesboro, NC; two (2) brothers, Alexander "Jig" McCormick of Wadesboro, NC and Haywood McCormick (Louisiana) of Wadesboro, NC.
He also leaves a very special and dear God-sister, Janet "Becky" Richardson, whom he loved and cherished and many special friends, including, David and Trish Ratliff, Richard Richardson, Keithland Teal, James Gatewood and David Clark.
A host of special nieces and nephews, Javen Maske of Wadesboro, NC, Raven Maske (Lemon) of Fayetteville, NC, Markeda Gaddy of Lilesville, NC, Arthaniel Bennett, Jr. of Wadesboro, NC, Cortelia Taylor of Wadesboro, NC, Tameka (James) Adams of Wadesboro, NC, and Sylvester Little of Wadesboro, NC; great-nieces and great-nephews, Alayah Gaddy, Jayden Moore, Darryl Richardson, Jr., Prince Carter Moore, Lemon Jones, Jr., Aria Jones, Joshua Tyson, Malik Gaddy; aunts, Bertha Kirkley, Odessa Tyson, Nancy Liles, Rosetta Bennett (Tim) and many more relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 12:00pm Saturday, November 25, 2017 at in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Deep Creek Church Cemetery.
