Miss Rebecca 'Aunt Becky' Wall Smith, 92, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. She was born in Anson County, NC on December 20, 1920 a daughter of the late Jonas and Martishie Wall Smith. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, March 22, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Lee officiating. Interment will follow in West Rocky Ford Church Cemetery. Aunt Becky was a member of Bessie Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Lilesville and later attended Lakeside Holiness Church in Wadesboro. She sang with both of the church choirs and was faithful until her health declined. Aunt Becky was educated at Henry Grove School in Lilesville, NC. She worked for Ma~Lek Industries and later was a homemaker. While a resident at the nursing home, she enjoyed painting her nails, playing bingo, eating cheese from the country store, eating cheese puffs and her favorite pastime was dipping her peach snuff. Her favorite color was pink. While she had no children of her own, Aunt Becky had a special love for her family and was always friendly to all she met. Her kindness will be sorely missed. She leaves to cherish her memory; special nieces and nephews , Lynnette (Joe) Little of Wadesboro, NC, Ywvonnie (Robert) McRae, who was her adopted daughter, of Polkton, NC, Cynthia (Mimmy) Misenheimer of Concord, NC , Kim (Larry) Thomas of Wadesboro, NC, Kenny (Shelia) Smith of Glen Burnie, MD, Cassius (Lisa) Smith of Kernersville, NC, Kristy Smith of Winston-Salem, NC, Eddie Bullock, Jr. of Wadesboro, NC, Calvin Bullock of Virginia, and Joevan McRae of Morven, NC; son-in-law, Eddie Bullock, Sr. of Wadesboro; brother-in-law, Frank Parsons of Monroe, NC and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Kenneth 'Kemp' Smith, Tom Smith, Mary Smith and Hattie Parsons, by an adopted daughter, Gwinzyel Bullock and by a niece Freeta McRae The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
