PEACHLAND – On Sunday, August 15, 2021, Mrs. Reva Lee High Carpenter, 68, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Lawyer’s Springs Primitive Baptist Church with Elder James Carelock and Elder Joe Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Peachland Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 7:00pm until 9:00pm Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro and other times at the home.
Reva Lee was born October 1, 1952, in Union County, NC and was a daughter of the late Truby Elton High and the late Lucille Horne High. She was a graduate of Bowman High School in 1970 and following high school graduation she enrolled in beauty school in Charlotte.
She owned and operated Reva’s Beauty Shop for 47 years prior to her retirement. Several of her customers have been a part of her business for generations. She has given many “first haircuts” and had clients to remain with her throughout their lifetime. She was well-respected for her work ethic and faithfulness in taking care of her customers, all of whom she loved like her family.
Reva Lee was a life-long member of Lawyer’s Springs Primitive Baptist Church and was faithful in supporting the church with her efforts and attendance. She also attended Deep Springs Baptist Church with her husband when Lawyer’s Springs did not have services.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary Carpenter; her sons, Jamison Whitley and Reggie Whitley and wife, Christina; her grandchildren, Colin and Jackson; her sister, Teresa High; her stepchildren, Marie High and husband, Michael and Clint Carpenter and wife, Nikki; her step-grandchildren, Kaylie High, Zachary High, Gage Carpenter and A.J. Carpenter and her beloved cat, Daisy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lawyer’s Springs Primitive Baptist Church, Ronnie Edwards, 1814 Ridge Rd., Monroe, NC 28110.
Many lives were touched by Reva Lee’s kindness and generosity. She lived a true example of her Christian faith and will be missed by many.
