Richard Thomas Bubba Mr. Howard

POLKTON - Mr. Richard Thomas Bubba Howard, 73, died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Bubba was born April 11, 1943 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Wade Holmes Howard, Sr. and the late Margaret Eula Jerman Howard. He was the owner and operator of HRT Contractors and served in the United States Army National Guard. Surviving are his sister, Jean Howard and his sister-in-law, Charlotte Howard both of Polkton; his nieces, Gretchen Howard and Brooke Howard both of Atlanta, GA; a friend, who was much like a son, Chris Moore of Chesterfield, SC and his three dogs, Sadie, Rock and Holley and his cat, Kat. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wade H. Sonny Howard, Jr. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
