CHARLOTTE, NC – On Monday, May 9, 2022, Mr. Richard Jackson “Rick” Robinson, 68, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
Services will be 2:00pm Sunday, May 15, 2022 by the graveside in Bethel Cemetery in Wadesboro. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Rick was born November 27, 1953 in Chesterfield County, SC and was a son of the late Cedric Poe Robinson and the late Sara Eddins Robinson. He was a graduate of Bowman High School in Wadesboro and worked for and eventually became the owner of Metro Electronics in Charlotte, where his career spanned nearly 40 years. He attended St. John’s United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
He dearly loved his family and was a devoted son. He was a caregiver, a quiet and kind man with an appreciation for music and knowledge of anything electronic.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister and brother, Jan Truman and husband, Bill of Hanahan, SC and Ron Robinson and wife, Nancy of Morven; his nephews and nieces, Neil Robinson of Lexington, SC, Laura Robinson of Morven, Dr. Lea Drye and husband, Clay of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Dr. Chris Truman and wife, Kate of Laurel, MD and Kim Elliott and husband, Bradley of Summerville, SC and 7 great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Robinson and by his long-time friend and roommate, Jim Canter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Cemetery Fund, c/o of Harold Carpenter, 1381 Cox Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
