Wadesboro - .Mr. Robert Junior Harris also known as 'Tut', 76 departed his life on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 while a patient at Carolina Medical Center Northeast in Concord, NC.
Robert was born November 14,1939 in Lilesville, NC a son of the late Al Sylvester and Goldie Spencer Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Pernell Edward Harris, three sisters and four brothers.
He was educated by the Anson County Public School System. He worked for the Craft family at the Ansonia Theater in Wadesboro until it's closing. He was employed at Wade Manufacturing in Wadesboro until declining health and retirement.
Surviving are his children, Robbie Harris, Vernon Harris, Alice (Jonathan) Clegg, Rosalyn Harris, Jermaine Harris, and Effie (Everette) Williams all of Wadesboro and their mother and his friend, Rosa Lee Forte of Wadesboro and Grant (Laquita) Collins of Lilesville .One brother Terry Harris of Wadesboro, four sisters Nellie M. Wilson of Lilesville, Bernice Wall, Mary (Lewitt) Melton both of Wadesboro and Bobbie (Alvin) Patterson of Salisbury NC. He also leaves behind 33 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grands and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, September 4, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Apostle Leonard Williams serving as eulogist. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 2:30pm until 3:00pm Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the home of his daughter, Alice Clegg on Country Club Rd., in Wadesboro.
