Robert Augusta Rob Mr. Moore, Jr

WADESBORO - Mr. Robert Augusta Moore, Jr., 93, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Ambassador Rehabilitation and Health Care. Services will be 11:00am Thursday, October 20, 2016 by the graveside in Anson Memorial Park with Rev. D.W. Carpenter officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 7:30pm Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home. Rob was born July 10, 1923 in Anson County, NC one of ten children born to the Robert Augusta Moore and Hannah Elzabeth Peguese Moore. He married the former, Virginia Turner in 1942, and he was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He owned and operated Moores Auto Repair in Wadesboro for 48 years and was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. Rob enjoyed fishing and cooking for his family and friends. He would often cook catfish stews, chicken and dumplings and fried corn bread for big family gatherings. He always wanted everyone to enjoy a good meal. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Darrell Edwards of Ansonville and Robyn and Danny Bowers of Polkton; his grandchildren, Kyle Edwards and wife, Jill of Ansonville, Eryn Edwards of Atlantic Beach, Taylor Edwards of Asheville, Marty Bowers of Atlanta, GA and Jaclyn Bowers of Charlotte; his great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Edwards of Ansonville; his sisters, Anne Thomas and Sadie Waddell both of Wadesboro and his nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Carl Moore, Willie Moore, Nancy Brock, Virginia Chewning, Ellie Bowman, Ollie Short and Maggie Lear. Memorials may be made to the Anson County Veterans Council, Inc., PO Box 791, Wadesboro, NC 28170 for their Wadesboro Park project. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
