ANSONVILLE - On Friday, March 3, 2023, Mr. Robert Glenn Pegram, 77, passed away peacefully at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Salisbury Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Winstead and Pastor Hank Griffin officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends Monday, March 6, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Glenn was born June 26, 1945 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Walter P. Pegram and the late Clara Hooks Pegram. He attended the public schools in Anson County and was a veteran of the United States Marines, having served during the Vietnam War. He had worked as a mechanice at Knight's Auto Repair in Wadesboro.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lilesville where he was ordained and served as a deacon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Mauldin Pegram; his children, Wanda Hartsell (Roger) of Mt. Gilead, Billy Pegram (Jennifer) of Ansonville and Bobby Pegram (Wendy) of Peachland; his grandchildren, Alan Hartsell, Melissa Howard, Jennifer Hartsell, Casey Coley, Tyler Pegram, Lee Pegram, Maggie Griffin, Kevin Curlee and Renee Harkey and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Curlee, his brothers and sister, Ralph Pegram, Billy Pegram and Lois Osborne.
