Robert Ranford Pigg

POLKTON - On Sunday, September 8, 2024, Mr. Robert Ranford Pigg, 86, passed away peacefully at his home.

There will be a private graveside service on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Bennett Grove Cemetery in Polkton.

He was born October 14, 1937, in Anson County, NC, and was a son of the late Marshall Pigg and the late Rosa Jarman Pigg. He worked as a meat cutter for 40 plus years. He was an avid hunter, and fisherman and enjoyed his plants and gardening.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Janette; his son, Tim; his daughter-in-law, Alice; his grandchildren, Genna and husband, Jason, Lindsey and husband, Alex, Mallory and Megan; his great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kenzie, Kadan, Addie and Rowan and many dear nieces and nephews which includes, Pam Holman Paradise,with whom he shared a special relationship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Harrington Pigg and by his brothers and sisters, Bill Pigg, Buddy Pigg, Dol Holman, Christine Paul, Bertie Gleason and Willa Rorie.

The family is most grateful to hospice nurses, Mandy and Rebecca with Gentiva Hospice for all they have done for him while he was in their care.
