Robert Luther Poplin

LILESVILLE - Mr. Robert Luther Poplin, 81, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Lilesville Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Lawson and Rev. John Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Lilesville Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, February 3, 2017 at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home. Robert was born November 29, 1935 in Anson County, NC a son of the late John Graham Poplin and the late Tincy Ratliff Poplin. He was a 1954 graduate of Lilesville High School, a faithful member of Lilesville Baptist Church, a former member of the Gideons International Anson Camp and was retired from Winn Dixie with 43 years of service. Surviving are his wife of nearly 63 years, Minnie Lee Tarlton Poplin of the home; his children, Robert Poplin, Jr., Nancy (Lindsey) Hildreth and John Poplin all of Lilesville and Tina (Roy) Cranford of Wadesboro; his sister, Sarah Lear of Wadesboro; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
