Ronald Dean Jones

At the request of the Jones family, we have added the following obituary to our webiste as a courtesy to them. The Jones family is originally from Anson County ROCKINGHAM - Ronald Dean Ron Jones, 57, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at his home. Ron was born January 3, 1959 in Richmond County, a son of R.H., Jr. and Bobbie Snuggs Jones. He was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School, Class of 1977, and a member of West Rockingham United Methodist Church. Ron was a florist who for many years worked with Ethels Flower Shop until its closing and then with Hillside Florist. He was also an employee of Carter Funeral Home and for many years was a caregiver to his little ole ladys as he called them. Ron was a collector of old things, ranges, mixers and vacuum cleaners among many other things. He enjoyed tinkering and repairing many of the old appliances, as he did for many of his friends. Rons kindness, caring and giving to others will be remembered by all who knew him. Surviving are his parents, R.H.,Jr. and Bobbie Jones of Rockingham, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services for Ron will be at 11 am Monday, December 5, 2016 at West Rockingham United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Haber and Rev. Donald Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at his parents home.
