Wadesboro - Mrs. Rosa Lang Grice, 97, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, in the Lillie Bennett Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home and other times at the home on 207 Little Street.
Rosa was born in Anson County on December 18, 1916, a daughter of the late Malcolm Henry Lang and Arra Dale Eddins Lang. She was married to the late Thomas Jefferson 'Tommy' Grice. Rosa worked many years at Little Cotton Mfg. and believed that work was important and would always make a person feel better.
Survivors include five children, Jerry W. (Mary Jo) Grice of South Bend, IN, Arra Jean Lane of Marion, NC, Maggie G. Powell of Wadesboro, Linda G. (Andy) Taylor of Maggie Valley, NC, and Jimmy (Dena) Grice of Morven; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a very special nephew, Ricky Lang.
Also surviving are two siblings, Malcolm Henry (Nancy) Lang Jr. and Leatha L. Luther both of Wadesboro. Rosa was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, Mary Campbell, Lawrence Lang, Lonnie Lang, Gracie Luther, Eula Jordan; and a grandchild, Melinda Rose Powell Canter.
