Ruby Brooks Liggett

Mrs. Ruby Brooks Liggett, 87, of Lilesville, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Ruby was born March 30, 1924, in Richmond County, N.C., one of 11 children born to the late William Thomas and Effie B. Lee Brooks. She was retired from Wadesboro Manufacturing and was a devoted member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd E. Liggett, and by her siblings including Ila B. Kent who made her home with Loyd and Ruby. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Charity and Shelton Faulkner and Dianne and Benny Burr, both of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Jason and Laura Beth Faulkner of Harmony, N.C., and Lauren and Eric Howell of Wingate; her sister-in-law, Arlie Liggett of Houston, Tex.; her nieces and nephews and their families; and special family members, Ben and Becky Burr of Wadesboro, who the family would like to thank for their love and care for Ruby, especially during her weeks of declining health. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Victoria Rommel and the entire staff of Ambassador Health and Rehab for the exemplary care given to Ruby while she was a resident there.
