LILESVILLE – On Friday, November 27, 2020, Mrs. Ruby Cox Vaughn, 101, peacefully went to be the Lord while being cared for at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, November 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Sybil Perrell and Rev. Bill Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Forestville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Ruby was born October 11, 1919 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Noah Eli Cox and the late Lillie Taylor Cox.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Emma Poplin and David Vaughn (Kay) both of Lilesville, Dorothy Tyson (Lavon) of High Point and Diane Childs of Florence, SC; her grandchildren, David Poplin (Ann) and Cindy Sikes (Billy) both of Lilesville; Doug Poplin of Wadesboro, Annette Yaudes (Scott) and Allison Foust both of High Point, Deana Bryant (Michael) of Charlotte, Susan Ratliff (Jamie) West End, David Childs, Jr. (Aimee) of Florence, SC and Costner Childs (McKenna Eggert) of Murell’s Inlet, SC; her great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Yaudes, Reese Yaudes, Scottie Yaudes, Jr., Kyle Foust, Katie Martin (Scott), Bethany Poplin, Zachary Sikes, Garrett Sikes, Grady Bryant and Ella Childs and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Eugene Vaughn, her sons-in-law, Bill Poplin and David Childs, and her brothers and sisters, Bill Cox, Houston Cox, Tillery Cox, Faye Cox, Betty Harris and Joyce Brown.
