ANSONVILLE Mrs. Ruth Watkins Biles, 100, died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Wadesboro Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ruth was born October 26, 1918 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late William Luther Watkins and the late Vinnie Watkins. She worked for a number of years at Polkton Manufacturing and was a long-time member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, Ruth Ann Pope and husband, Frank and Danny Biles and wife, Carol all of Ansonville; her grandsons, Brent Pope and wife, Jennifer and Tracy Pope; her great-grandchildren, Lofton, Lani and Levi; and her sister, Star Adams of Polkton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Elkin Hyatt and Hoyle Biles, son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Ray and Arelene Hyatt, grandchildren, Nicholas Biles, Jennifer Hyatt, Tammatha Pope and sisters and brothers, Ida Pope, Ted Watkins, Ray Watkins, W.L. "Dub" Watkins, Marian Kearns and Rudene Beverly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anson Community Hospice and Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US-1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
