Ruth Elizabeth Daughety Parks, 92, of Wadesboro and formerly of Kinston, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. She was born on November 1, 1920 in Craven County to the late Sherman and Lillian Daughety. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Gilbert Parks; sister, Mary Edwards; and brother, Ray Daughety.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who was loved by all and will be truly missed by many. Ruth was also a member of Tanglewood Church of God and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Center and husband Ernest of Kinston; son, James W. 'Buzz' Parks and wife Wanda of Polkton; seven grandchildren, Sheri Geddie and husband Robert, Angela Gibson and husband Chris, Jennifer Henderson and husband Bruce, Shelley Center, Alison Carroll and husband Justin, Stephen Center and wife Courtney, David Parks and wife Mallorie; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
