WADESBORO - Mrs. Ruth Jones Williams, 89, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Services will be 3:00pm Monday, November 9, 2015 by the graveside in Jowers Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service. Ruth was born September 18, 1926 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Thomas Jones and Lena Tarlton Jones. She had worked for several years in textiles, retiring from West Knitting Mills. Surviving are her children, Judy (Erskine) Almond of Lilesville, Larry (Louise) Williams and Peggy Dean Coble both of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Yates Almond and Wendy Knott both of Lilesville, Melinda Almond of Florida, Tommy Williams of Wadesboro, Lisa Martin of Polkton, Junior Dean of Greensboro and Stacey Lisenby and Stan Dean both of Norwood; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Josephine Jones of Lilesville and her half- brothers and sister, Jimmy Jones and Mike Jones both of Lilesville and Charles Jones and Dianne Lee both of Wadesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur McQuage who was killed in action during World War II and Thomas Benjamin Williams, brother and sister, Pete Jones and Fannie Jarman and half-brother, Buck Jones. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ambassador Health and Rehab for the loving and compassionate care they gave Ruth while she was a resident there. You were truly her second family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ambassador Health and Rehab, Activity Department, 2051 Country Club Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
