Sara Lou Waddell Johnson Eldaef

WADESBORO - On Saturday, December 21, 2024, Mrs. Sara Louise Waddell Johnson Eldaef, 93, passed away peacefully at Lake Park Nursing Center.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Brown Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Williams officiating. 

The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

Sara Lou was born January 31, 1931 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late John Addison Waddell and the late Ella Ruth Lee Waddell. She was a graduate of Polkton High School and a licensed cosmetologist . She was a member of Calvary Church in Charlotte and attended Brown Creek Baptist Church, her home church, after moving back to Wadesboro.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ken Helms of Ft. Mill, SC, Tylon Johnson of Charlotte and Jerry Johnson (Libby) of Tryon; her grandchildren, Ryan Helms, Erik Helms, Tylon Johnson, II, Rebecca Johnson, Sara Johnson, Kendra Johnson, Ian Johnson, Harper Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; her sisters, Rose Adams of Charlotte and Rachel Bunn of Wadesboro and her nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Kenneth Helms and Tylon Clyde Johnson; by her son, Bob Helms and by her brothers and sisters, John Waddell, Leon Waddell, Betty Bennett and Judy Huntley.
