Wadesboro- Mrs. Sarah Jordan Dickens, 90, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 in Lillie Bennett Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Gerald and Rev. Donald Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm.
Sarah was born June 18, 1922 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Cleveland Jordan Sr. and Lillie Dean Jordan. She was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Pete Kelly and Ozzie Dickens, a son, Glenn Dickens, a brother, Woodrow 'Bud' Jordan, and three sisters, Pauline Pegram, Mary Frances Diggs and Cleva Mae Hooks.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Janice) Kelly of Wadesboro and Johnny (Sandra) Dickens of Laurinburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brothers, Cleveland Jordan Jr. of Wadesboro, Pete Jordan of Lilesville; and sisters, Louise Paul, Margarite Treadaway, Peggy Long, Jean Burris, and Josephine Dickens all of Wadesboro.
