Miss Sherri Denise Byrd was born May 29, 1996 in Richmond County, NC a daughter of Peggy Amanda Byrd and Lamorris Bobbit. She departed this life to join our Lord and Savior on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the home of her uncle.
Sherri attended Richmond County Schools and was a 2015 graduate of Richmond Senior High School. She confessed Christ at an early age and attended Henry Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lilesville.
Surviving are her mother, Peggy Byrd of the home; her father, Lamorris Bobbit of Wadesboro; her sisters, Briana Byrd of the home, Whitney Bobbit of Winston-Salem and Ajiah Felver of Monroe; her brother, Brandon Bobbit of Wadesboro; her grandparents, Melvin and Rena Tyson of Lilesville, Vernetta Simon of Wadesboro; her great-grandmother, Netter Kendall of Lilesville; her uncles, Melvin Byrd, Kelvin Tyson, Matthew Tyson all of Lilesville and Quentin Little of Wadesboro; her great-aunts and great-uncles, Edward and Deborah Byrd, Doris Tina Byrd, Kerry Byrd, Terry Byrd, Alisha and Keith Thomas and James Byrd all of Wadesboro, Glenn and Serita Byrd of Morven, Barbara and Ben Smith, Betty and James Pickett, Shirley and Richard Ratliff all of Lilesville, Janet Hardison, Herbert Jackson Carolyn Tyson Irving all of Charlotte and James Tyson of Monroe.
Also surviving is a host of cousins, other relatives and many dear friends including, her great-aunt for whom she was named, Shirley Denise Ratliff of Lilesville, her cousin, Donyea Harris of Wadesboro who was like a sister to her and special cousin, Melissa Cole of Hamlet and special friend and classmate, KyShay Bady of Rockingham.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Symone Byrd, great-grandparents, Cephus and Betty Byrd and James Kendall and great-uncle, Daniel Parson.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, July 1, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Evangelist Tangula Diggs officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Lilesville.
The viewing will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home
