PEACHLAND - On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Mrs. Shirley Sims Davis, 81, passed away peacefully at Bethany Woods Nursing Center in Albemarle.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Friday, January 10, 2025 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home.
The family greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Shirley was born November 28, 1943 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late Floyd Sims and the late Lydia Jane Collins Sims Thomas. She had worked for Holly Farms and Festival Homes in Monroe.
She enjoyed doing crafts, going fishing, yard work, planting flowers, long walks and singing. Although she had issues with her memory and declining health she could always remember Jesus and talked about him all the time. She would often sing at Bethany Woods while she was a resident there.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her children, Becky Stover (Jimmy) of Marshville, Vicky Davis of Charlotte, Billy Davis (Nancy) of Burlington and Larry Davis (Lisa) of Pageland, SC; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Hobbs of Monroe, Chris Spittle (Courtney) of Wingate, Kevin Spittle of Wadesboro, Laura Johnson (Bill) of Lancaster, SC, Jonathan Stover and Jesse Stover both of Lilesville; Joann Davis of Kentucky, Robin Davis of Wadesboro, Amanda Joyner (Richie) of Texas, Michelle Davis of Charlotte, Edward Davis, Jr. of Weddington, James "JB" Davis of Polkton, Elizabeth Belk (Marcos Hidalgo) of Monroe, Courtney Earley (Tim) of Waxhaw and Scotty Belk of Pageland, SC; her great-grandchildren, Matthew Pope, Alex Pope, Aubrey Pope, Michael Pope, Brittany Madena, Sabrina Davis, Emily Hildreth, Patrick Hildreth, Donnie "Little D" Hildreth, Jr., Amber Davis, Taylor Davis, Joseph Shipley, Jacob Juarez, Arianna Hidalgo, Sophia Belk, Adam Earley, Rebekah Earley and Riley Earley; her brothers, David Sims of Rockingham and James Thomas (Kimberly) of Monroe and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Blair Davis, and her brothers and sisters, J.W. Sims, Van Sims, Doreen Sims, Ann Sims, Lonnie Sims, Danny Sims, Mitchell Sims, and Brenda Stegall.
