Shirley Byrd Ratliff

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

 

Mrs. Shirley Byrd Ratliff was born October 12, 1963, in Anson County and was a daughter of the late Cephus and Betty Tillman Byrd. She departed this life to join our Lord and Savior on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.

Shirley was educated in the public schools of Anson County. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Missionary Baptist Church in Lilesville.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Richard Ratliff; her daughter, Diamond Ratliff of the home; her loving sisters and brothers, Mrs. Barbara (Benjamin) Smith, Mrs. Betty (James) Pickett, and Mrs. Rena (Melvin) Tyson all of Lilesville, Mr. Edward (Deborah) Byrd, Mrs. Janet (Hubert) Jackson Mr. Glen Byrd, Mr. James Byrd, Ms. Alisha Thomas, Ms.  Doris Byrd and Ms. Terry Byrd all of Wadesboro; her half-brothers and half-sisters, Mr. Keith Leak, Mr. Preston Leak, Mrs. James Leak, Jr., Mr. Roger Rorie, Ms. Magdalene Lindsey, and Ms. Florrie Richardson; her aunts and uncles, Mrs. Rena Knotts, Mrs. Beatrice Evans, Mr. James (Trissie) Tillman all of Lilesville, Ms. Eva Diggs, Mr. Ross (Wanda) Tillman and Mr. Walter (Anita) Tillman both of Wadesboro and Mr. Crawford Tillman of Morven; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mr. Maurice Ratliff, Ms. Linda Ratliff, and Ms. Shunda Ratliff and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kerry Byrd; her niece, Sherri Byrd, her nephew, Kelvin Tyson and a special sister of the heart, Tammi McRae.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2022, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home.

Public viewing will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the funeral home.
