Susan Pigg

WADESBORO - On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Miss Susan Pigg, 66, retired owner and operator of Soooweet Treats Bakery in Wadesboro passed away at her home.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday, August 26, 2023 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Susan was born September 12, 1956 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late John Wesley "JW" Pigg, Sr. and the late Mary Ann Streater Pigg. She was a graduate of Bowman High School.

She was well-known for the goodies she made and sold in her bakery. Many of her customers traveled from nearby counties for cupcakes, birthday cakes, mints and wedding cakes. When she closed her shop, due to health issues, all of her customers were sad and today still speak of her delicious cooking.

Susan grew up with her family being members of Southside Baptist Church and in later years, she attended Long Pine United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister and brothers, Helen Griffin (David) of Waxhaw, John Pigg, Jr. (Patti) of Wadesboro and Jimmy Pigg of Ardmore, OK; her nephews and nieces, Scott Griffin (Malissa) of Burlington, Megan Coleman (Jordan) of Manning, SC, Hannah Griffin (Kyle) of Waxhaw, Wesley Pigg, Jessica Paul (Brandon), and Jackson Poulnott all of Wadesboro, Avery Pigg and Elisa Akins (Jared) both of Ardmore, OK; her great-nephews and great-nieces, Jace Griffin, Savannah Griffin, Kaison Akins, Sofia Akins, Roscoe Lane, Lizzie Paul, Oakley Griffin and Stetson Griffin; her aunts, Jean Grecho of Lilesville, Mary Esta Weatherley of Columbia, SC and Christine Edwards of Wadesboro and her cousins and their families.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
