Susie Melton Johnson

PEACHLAND - On Monday, February 6, 2023, Susie Melton Johnson, 65, passed away peacefully at her home.

There will be a memorial service at 6:00 PM Monday, February 13, 2023, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Knotts officiating.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Misty on Thomas Road in Polkton.

The interment will be private in Anson Memorial Park at a later date.

Susie was born October 25, 1957, in Anson County, NC, and was the daughter of the late Major Melton and the late Mary Helen Deese Melton. She worked for a number of years in sales with The Anson Record and owned and operated East Wade Grill in Uptown Wadesboro.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Misty Johnson-Streater of Polkton and Crystal Gayle Johnson of Peachland; her granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Streater of Wadesboro, Brittney Lee Streater and Emma Bland Streater both of Polkton and Aleah Jordan Baucom of Peachland; her great-grandchild, Carter Grey Cunningham; her beloved Maltipoo, Laya; her brothers, Michael Melton (Sharen) of Whispering Pines, Ray "Al" Melton (Carol) of Laurinburg and Richard "Fireball" Melton (Alicia) of Polkton and her nieces and nephews and their families.

Susie enjoyed playing cards, collecting snowmen, music, dancing, cooking, NASCAR, football, and hosting times shared with her family and friends.
